What We Treat
Although we are well known for treating back pain, neck pain and joint pain, we can also help you with many other problems such as sports injuries, arthritis, headaches, frozen shoulders and trapped nerves.

Sports Injuries

They don’t just affect athletes but also anyone who runs, cycles, swims, or even goes to the gym can pick up injuries. Left untreated, these issues can stop you from performing at your best, and in some cases, make everyday movements uncomfortable too. We know how hard it is to be sidelined from the activities you love, especially when recovery seems slow or unclear.

Headaches and Migraines
We know how frustrating and exhausting recurring headaches or migraines can be. Whether it's a dull ache, a sharp, sudden pain, headaches can seriously affect your quality of life. There are many reasons why headaches occur but when pain becomes frequent or persistent, it’s your body’s way of saying something needs attention. At our clinic, we take that message seriously and we take time to listen to you, not just your symptoms.
Migraines are more than just “bad headaches.” They can affect every part of your day. From your work, sleep, and ability to enjoy time with loved ones. While the exact causes can vary, migraines often arise from a combination of factors such as muscle tension, postural strain, hormonal changes, nerve sensitivity, and stress.
What causes headaches and migraines?
There are many reasons people experience headaches and migraines:
-
Stress
-
Poor posture,
-
Muscle tension
-
Dehydration
-
Jaw clenching
-
Hormonal Changes

Past injuries
Often, the root cause is a combination of factors, and that’s where things can get confusing.
How can osteopathy help my headaches or migraines?
Osteopathy looks at the whole body, not just where the pain is, but what might be contributing to it. If your headaches are caused or worsened by tension in your neck, back, jaw, or shoulders, osteopathic treatment may be able to help relieve that strain and restore balance to your body.
Hip and Knee Pain
Hip and Knee pain can be frustrating. It can affect walking, sleeping or simply sitting comfortably. The causes can vary widely. Sometimes it comes from the joints themselves or the pain is referred from the back, pelvis, or surrounding muscles.

We will also give you a personalised plan to help you move freely and confidently again

Shoulder and Elbow Pain
Shoulder and elbow problems can happen to anyone, whether you’re lifting a shopping bag, reaching for something in the cupboard, typing for hours, or playing your favourite sport. Sometimes the cause is obvious, like a sudden injury or overuse, but other times it’s a slow build-up of strain. You may also notice stiffness, weakness, or pins-and-needles sensations that add to your discomfort.
Our osteopaths take time to understand your pain, find the cause, and help you move freely again, whether it’s from an injury, overuse, or something that’s been creeping up for months.
What Causes Pain In Your Shoulder and Elbow?
Your shoulder and elbow are complex joints. Problems can arise from:

Our aim is not just to treat your pain, but to help you move more freely and confidently again.
Arthritis
Living with arthritis can feel like a daily battle, the stiffness in the morning, the ache after activity, or that dull, persistent discomfort that never quite leaves. Arthritis pain often comes from inflammation in or around the joints, wear and tear over time, or changes in how your body compensates for reduced movement.
What causes Arthritis?
Arthritis can develop for several reasons and often it’s a mix of factors rather than just one cause.
Common causes include:
-
Wear and tear (Osteoarthritis)
-
Autoimmune reactions (Rheumatoid arthritis and others)
-
Metabolic causes (Gout, Pseudogout)
-
Genetic factors
-
Lifestyle and environmental factors:
-
Previous joint injuries
-
Repetitive strain or high-impact work/sports
-
Carrying extra body weight
-
Smoking
-
Poor posture or body mechanics
-
Remember that arthritis doesn’t always have a single cause but understanding what contributes to it is the first step towards managing it effectively.
How can osteopathy help my pain?
Osteopathy can’t reverse arthritis, but it can help you live more comfortably with it. Our aim is to ease pain and stiffness by improving joint mobility and reducing muscular tension using expert hands on techniques. Finally we provide guidance on posture, lifestyle, and movement strategies that make everyday life easier. We tailor each session to your individual needs, respecting what your body can do and working within your comfort zone.

Foot and Ankle Pain
Your feet and ankles carry you through every step of life. So, when pain strikes, it can make even the simplest tasks feel difficult. Foot pain can develop for many reasons: standing or walking for long hours, changes in footwear, poor posture, injury, or underlying joint and muscle imbalances that affect the way your body moves.

Plantar fasciitis (pain in the sole or heel)
-
Metatarsalgia (pain in the ball of the foot)
-
Achilles tendon issues

Pain from altered gait or posture
What causes Ankle Pain?

-
A recent sprain or strain that hasn’t fully healed
-
Tendon or ligament irritation, often caused by overuse or poor movement patterns
-
Joint stiffness after injury, inflammation, or arthritis
-
Postural or biomechanical issues in the feet, knees, or hips that place extra stress on the ankle
How can Osteopathy help?
At our clinics we focus on reducing pain, improving mobility, and restoring natural movement so you can walk, exercise, or simply go about your day without hesitation.
We use hands-on techniques to release tight muscles and improve joint mobility. We also give advice on posture, footwear, and exercise as well as simple movement or strengthening plans to support long-term recovery. Our goal is not just to ease your pain but also to help you understand why it happened and how to stop it coming back.
Pregnancy Aches and Pains
Pregnancy is a physically demanding time for your body. As your baby grows, your posture, balance, and the way you move all change. Hormonal shifts soften ligaments, while extra weight and fluid retention can put extra pressure on your joints and muscles.
What causes aches and pains during pregnancy?
-
Hormonal changes – The hormone relaxin softens your ligaments to prepare for birth. This can make joints (especially in the pelvis and lower back) a little less stable and more prone to pain.
-
Postural changes – As your baby grows, your centre of gravity shifts forward. Your spine and muscles work harder to keep you balanced, often causing lower back, hip, shoulder, or neck tension.
-
Extra weight and fluid can put extra pressure on the spine, hips, knees, and feet. This can lead to aches, swelling, or even nerve irritation such as sciatica or tingling.
-
Muscle fatigue Muscles can become tight or tired, especially around the back, pelvis, and thighs. The diaphragm may also feel restricted, leading to rib or upper-back discomfort.
-
Emotional and physical stress Fatigue, tension, or disrupted sleep can heighten sensitivity to pain and slow recovery.
What can Osteopathy do to ease my pain?
During your pregnancy, our goal is to help your body adapt as comfortably as possible to each stage of change.
We use gentle techniques to reduce tension in overworked muscles and joints, improve posture and balance as your centre of gravity shifts and support the pelvis and spine for optimal alignment. We can also ease tension in the ribs and diaphragm to help you breathe more easily and help promote relaxation and better sleep. Our treatments are always adapted to your stage of pregnancy and comfort level.
